Dwight School London
Dwight is an international school which offers the IB curriculum for children of all ages. The school was founded in 1972 and now occupies four separate sites in North London. The main senior school building is clean, bright and welcoming. The school is packed into a small space, but there is room for students to get involved in plenty of creative activities alongside the academics, and Art, Drama and Music are strong. Sports take place at local facilities or at the school's own field which is a 10-minute bus ride away. Students come from a wide variety of countries, with about half from the UK. There is a great emphasis on individualised learning. Class sizes are small, and there is a strong parent network.
The PYP programme is linked to the UK national curriculum in the early years. Children then progress to the MYP before taking the IB Diploma in the 6th form. Dwight is academically non-selective and serves a wide range of children. EAL and SEN support can be provided at extra cost. Dwight is one of a group of schools, with others in Vancouver, Seoul and Shanghai, and students have the opportunity to take part in the Dwight Global Leaders gathering in Vancouver which focuses on leadership skills and social entrepreneurship.
